I am not sure there is anything more important than education for those who have a curiosity of how the green economy can transform our current dilemma.

Is it possible that what others are doing in other countries could work here in the United States? According to the European Energy Commission website, energy is what drives the engine for Europe. Maybe we need to understand this for our country. Their European Union (EU) addresses the major energy challenges head on, without constant doubt and questions. The EU is establishing an ambitious energy policy – covering the full range of energy sources from combating the negative effects of gas and coal, to exploring the positives of nuclear energy including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, hydro-electric and wave energy. As many have said this will spark a new industrial revolution that can and will help us here in the United States to energize our economy. Are you wondering how this will occur?

According to Work Force One and the Department of Labor, there are 166 occupations that will be developed offering job opportunities for an income for families. These will include jobs in energy consulting and research. Manufacturers in renewable energy sectors will need to supply scientific and technical services. Waste management and remediation services will need staff. Have we even begun to think of the jobs that will be created for processing recyclable materials? Transportation industries will offer opportunities in increasing efficiency and/or reducing environmental impact of various modes of transportation. Farming technologies for biomass production and end user processing. Carbon capture technology and selling and buying energy will all be in demand. Interested yet? Where do you go to get this training? If you are interested, these curriculums need to be developed. Oh, did we mention educational opportunities for researchers and teachers?

Green Course Development will be huge in the years to come. Our company, is focused in the real estate sector for now, but we may expand to meet the demand. If you have an entrepreneur mindset, get in this game. You will not only contribute to the next generations’ survival, you could make millions.

Green Real Estate Education is scheduled to educate more than 20,000 professionals in going green by 2011. For more information: http://www.greenrealestateeducation.com.

We're hearing it on the nightly news and reading it in the morning paper: green jobs will be the future of this economy. President Obama recently commented that the U.S. cannot fall behind other countries like China and Germany, who are at the forefront of the green technology and clean energy revolution. China has committed a massive investment of $217 billion on clean energy tech over the next five years and Germany already spends far more than the U.S. on renewable energy.

We’re hearing it on the nightly news and reading it in the morning paper: green jobs will be the future of this economy. Clearly, for the U.S. to catch up and maintain its foothold as an economic superpower, clean energy sources like wind, solar and fuel cell technology will need to be put at the forefront of our domestic production machine.

The current Obama administration has made it a goal to do this: committing a starting cache of $80 billion towards green technology as part of the stimulus package. The other part of the equation that the green revolution will supposedly solve is the job problem. Clean energy tech will be the catalyst for a blitz of green hiring – from small businesses to major corporations that have thrown their chips into the eco-friendly pile. The jobs will range from blue collar workers to specialized positions that go along with each niche green technology sector.

Lets assume that this is all going to work: one way or another it makes sense that the U.S. needs to start investing in the future, and it is clear that renewable energy sources are the way of the future. For those companies that are taking part in this new green economy – hiring becomes the number one most important aspect of competition. As a result of the U.S. stimulus and commitment toward the green sector, it will make sense that universities (and beyond) begin to train the next generation of engineers, scientists, technicians, managers, marketing specialists and all other high-level positions associated with green technology. Companies that want to get a hold of this new and specialized talent will need to stay on their toes to properly attract applicants.

The internet boom, and the rise of highly specialized programmers is a great example of this hiring ecosystem. During the previous decade, as companies like Google and Facebook blew up, the demand for their specific services also rose, pushing the value of the programming talent. Not only did programming become more niche depending on what type of internet service you wanted to build (you need a PHP coder for one thing, a MySQL programmer for another, etc.) but the varying skill level of these programmers became more visible based on past work as well. A similar hiring ecosystem seems to be in its nascent phase with clean energy tech.

As clean energy tech gains steam, specific green skill sets will also become more valuable. Attracting this type of niche green tech talent will need to become a priority for companies both large and small because it will determine what kind of competitive edge a business can forge through proprietary technologies. Just like in the web boom, companies can attract the best talent by distinguishing themselves through culture, pay grade, branding and an aggressive recruiting program.

Many green companies will benefit from using modern hiring solutions which can allow them to easily track applicants, post on job boards and analyze recruiting statistics. Solutions that simplify and streamline the hiring process on all ends of the spectrum will be key to green companies that want to strategically grow. Clean energy and green technology companies that want to gain a competitive edge in the green hiring area need to take advantage of the best available technology.

The future of green technology is here, that’s for sure – and the next generation of Googles (Chevrons to be parallel) will live and die on finding the right talent.

The natural energy sector is expanding rapidly and will continue to grow in coming years as governments around the world make efforts to develop more environmentally-friendly energy sources. The desire to move away from foreign oil dependence and explore new energy sources which are less damaging to the environment has encouraged expansion in a variety of exciting new energy generation options, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and bioenergy power, among others. There are a great variety of career options available in this employment sector, and the diversity of jobs available is sure to offer something for every taste. Read on for more information on why you should consider a career in the energy field.

1. Natural Energy Offers Great Job Prospects in the Future As the natural energy industry expands, job prospects are sure to increase. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that electricity from renewable sources like sun, wind and water, will soon become one of the fastest-growing sectors in power production. As governments take a stronger stance on climate change and begin to enact more policies promoting alternative energy research, development and implementation, jobs in the field will open up. The case of solar power offers a great example. Currently the majority of solar panel installation in the US takes place in California, a state that offers excellent incentives to homeowners and businesses for installing solar panels. Since solar panels are a very expensive investment, some state governments offer loans and other incentives like tax credits to homeowners who have solar panels installed in their homes. In the future, other states are planning to offer greater incentives like California, which should increase the number of homeowners who decide to install solar panels.

2. Diversity of Natural Energy Jobs Offers Something for Every Taste There is a great diversity of jobs available in the natural energy sector. Jobs in the construction sector, such as solar panel installation, turbine manufacturing and general construction, offer hands-on jobs that allow you to engage in active work outside of an office building atmosphere. There are also many management jobs available which offer more supervisory positions, such as power plant operators who help run power plants and environmental policy managers who help determine ways in which to utilize natural resources with minimal damage to the environment. Other potential jobs allow you to become more involved in the critical thinking and development processes necessary to implement new types of natural energy, such as chemical engineering or bioengineering. Whether you want a job that allows you to work in the great outdoors or would prefer to work in an office, the field of natural energy offers something for every taste.

3. Natural Energy Jobs Make Positive Contributions Another great plus about a career in natural energy means you will be making a positive contribution to society – and the earth itself. Growing concerns about pollution, global warming and sustainability have made finding new cleaner forms of energy more important than ever before. Natural energy sources like wind and solar power are significantly less damaging to the environment than other options like petroleum. Not only are the harvesting processes of such power sources less harmful to the environment, these energy sources are significantly less damaging to the environment in that they do not emit nearly as many harmful chemicals and gasses into the atmosphere as fossil-fuel burning.

Working in the natural energy field allows you to make a positive impact by promoting the use of these cleaner fuel forms. Knowing that the job you do everyday is making a positive difference for the future of the earth and the people and animals that inhabit it makes going to work every day that much more satisfying.

There are many different natural energy jobs to explore, and now’s the time to do it. The industry is hot right now. Lisa Jenkins, contributing writer for JobMonkey.com, offers tips on everything from solar panel installation jobs and working on wind farms to opportunities for engineers and power plant management. The green energy movement is here to stay, and you can find out how these careers can put some green in your pocket.
